Have you ever heard of Ziggy Stardust?
 No? Well, in this paragraph you learn all about him, and other artists and songs that relate to space. Ziggy Stardust was actually a fiction character from singer David Bowie's album, Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The album was about
Ziggy Stardust and his adventures through space. Some of the most popular songs were "Lady Stardust", "Starman", and "". At concerts, Bowie used to dress up as Ziggy, and he soon became his alter ego. Ziggy and Bowie didn't have much in common, although Ziggy was portrayed to have drug and alcohol addictions like Bowie. Astronauts were also given a treat when The Beatles song "Across the Universe" was blasted through space at an astonishing speed of 189,000 mph. Paul McCartney later sent NASA an email that said "Well done NASA. Send my love to the aliens, Paul." Lots of other songs and albums are about space, so now its your turn to explore space through music!






                                                                            


As you may already know, there are lots of movies and films that relate to space. Some popular ones are Star Wars, Armageddom, Men in Black, Alien, Serenity, A Space Odyssey,Star Trek, E.T, and Apollo 13. Movies had different interpretations of space and aliens, like E.T was all about becomng friends with the alien, while in Men in Black they were trying to eliminate them. One of the earliest space movies was about space  first shown in theaters was French filmmaker George Melies' " A Trip to the Moon", released in 1902. Melies was one of the first few filmmakers in the 1900's, and one of the most well known. He was famous for all of his speial effects he added to his films. He was known as a "cinemagician", and some of his tecniques are still used today. Space movies are popular thrillers and are very exciting. You can sometimes learn actually facts from them! They are also really good movies, so go watch some!
