Hubble Space Telescope
Hubble space telescope was launched
on April 24th, 1990.
It was
named after the great stargazer Edwin Hubble.
Its speed in orbit is 4.66 miles/second.
It has been serviced on 5 times before.
There are many every day instruments on this very
famous telescope. For
example, there are very “advanced cameras
for surveys. This may not be your everyday camera
but it
proves that somehow things were multiplied in size and put into space
in a
telescope.
Curiosity is the Mars rover lowered
to the surface of Mars by the ship Sky Crane.
Each part of the landing process had to be executed
perfectly for the
mission to succeed. It
weighs 2,000
pounds. Curiosity
is on a two year
mission to drill into the surface of Mars and find if it can support
any
life. The
camera on this robot is at
the top on which looks like the head of it.
Curiosity will take pictures of the barren world of
Mars and send them
back to earth. |
